The Trading Post offers complete repair and restoration services. We accept your cedar strip canvas canoe and can replace broken or rotted ribs, broken inner and outer rails, damaged or rotten planking and will accept re-canvassing and refinish jobs. Before restoration, the Trading Post will undertake research into the origin of the boat and will try to determine the age as well as original attributes of the boat, such as original color, original type of woods used in construction etc.

It is our restoration philosophy to preserve as many of the old wooden and metal parts of your boat as possible and only replace parts when original parts are beyond repair. Old wood has a patina and coloring that is unique and not easily reproduced. New wooden parts will be stained to blend seamlessly into the look of your old boat. All efforts will be made to use identical woods as on the original canoe when making repairs or replacements.

We also accept your fiberglass & kevlar kayaks/canoes for repairs and refinishing.

With all repair and restoration projects we will provide you with an estimate the cost of repair work as swiftly as possible and undertake to perform the work within the stated time frame.
